"Organs built by organists for organists"
Recent Installations

Phoenix PT246 was recently installed at St. Joseph's church in Corpus Christi. It stands next to a 5 rank Wicks organ, circa 1936.

Fr. Tom, rector, has acclaimed the installation as the finest digital organ he has heard and has difficulty telling the digital from the Wicks pipe organ.

Organs

All Phoenix organs are made from the finest hardwoods available and are hand-crafted and custom built as with a pipe organ. Specifications are only suggestions. Each organ is custom built with the client choosing the samples from an extensive library.

Pipe/Combination Organs
Phoenix is well known for its ability to expertly interface pipe with the digital organs. Phoenix Organs of Texas has a long partnership with Robert Knight and Associates, of San Diego, Ca. Mr Knight is an expert in interfacing pipe divisions with the digital organ...

Features
There are 6 distinctive features separating Phoenix Organs from other digital organ companies
  • Sample Rate. Phoenix Organs use long sample rates, up to 5 seconds, as opposed to some other digital companies who use very short sample rates. This allows all of the nuances to be recorded.
  • Consoles. Phoenix organ consoles are made from the finest hardwoods available. No MDF is used, unlike some other digital organs. Custom finishes are available at no extra cost.
  • Specifications Listed. Specifications are only a suggestion. Phoenix has an extensive library of samples throughout the world, including Harrison, Willis, Cavaille-Coll, Letourneau, Guilbaut-Therien, Hollman, Skinner and many other organ builders, that you may choose from.
  • Voicing. Phoenix does not install the organ, tweak the volume a little, and run out the door. Some digital organs have very little voicing capability, so "tweaking" the volume is about all that they can do. Phoenix has one of the most sophisticated voicing software programs available, with 11 parameters to control all aspects of voicing. This insures that the organ sound will truly "blossom" in the acoustics of the room. Don Anderson, head tonal director of Phoenix, is available to help voice the installation, if required.
  • Audio. Most builders typically provide enough amp power for a basic setup only. But serious power amps are needed if the effect is to approach the wall-shaking (yet subtle) effect of a real pipe organ. Phoenix generally uses twice the audio channels of other companies. Phoenix's 4 manual, 72 stop organ has at least 20 channels while most digital companies only give you 12-14 channels which results in the "bottle neck" of sterile sound.
  • Speakers. Most digital companies use speakers that speak from the front only, resulting in a 2 dimensional representation of a 3 dimensional sound. Phoenix has solved this problem by using "acousticubes" that have speakers on all 4 sides, resulting in a true 3 dimensional sound.
